Payroll Tax Cut Fight: 'Wall Street Journal' Editorial Rips Boehner, McConnell

Hats off to the Republican Tea Bag Party who not only succeeding in showing they can't work with the President, the Democrats, the Judiciary but now their own Republican Senators.

With people like this running (err... ruining) our government, who needs enemies???

And all House Republican leaders needed to do was vote for 2-month extension, then the Senate said they would work with them on 12-month one...

Oh well, hopefully the American people will wake up and realize they made a mistake and come 2012 vote the GOP & Tea Bags out...

Obama To Boehner: Pass The Senate Payroll Tax Cut Now

It's obvious that Republicans are more interested in their wealthy benefactors than they are the American people. Let's just hope that the folks who have been swindled into supporting them against their own interests will realize it in time. The damage they're causing cannot be denied.

The most compelling arguments for Obama's reelection are the crop of clownish Republican candidates running for the job, and the bizarre, reactionary, and insane behavior of the Republican Party membership in general.

For those of you who vote infrequenlty, now is the time to flex your beliefs and vote the GOP out of office.

Its the logical thing to do!

Payroll Tax Cut Extension: House GOP Seeks To Reshape Senate Bill

Republicans are getting smarter. Why pray tell should they do anything that might help the economy or help jobs for the 99%? That defeats rule #1. This type of politics is sending us the way of the Romans! But according to the current batch of short-sighted Republicans like Cantor & Boehner it's better to kill Rome than let a democrat do something to help the country.

For those of you who never vote, now is the time to flex your beliefs and vote the GOP out of office.

Payroll Tax Cut Fight: Republicans Embrace Showdown With Obama Over Keystone XL

It's obvious that Republicans are more interested in their wealthy benefactors than they are the American people. Let's just hope that the folks who have been swindled into supporting them against their own interests will realize it in time. The damage they're causing cannot be denied.

The Payroll Tax cut will never pass and I don't blame Obama if he vetos it. The republican plan is just that and not a plan for America. Many folks have already switched parties from Republican to Democrat, the Congress and Senate will pay dearly for all they have done this past year. I hope the people in the states that elected tea party folks recall them or vote them out. They are for the Rich and not the middle and poor classes of America. They have no clue what Occupy Wall Street is all about and neither do the democrats. If I have to vote for the best of the two evils, I am voting for the Democrats in 2012.

Government Funding Bill Takes Shape In Congress

The most compelling arguments for Obama's reelection are the crop of clownish Republican candidates running for the job, and the bizarre, reactionary, and insane behavior of the Republican Party membership in general. To be clear, neither side has it 100% right, but of the two, I think the GOP's position is far more dangerous for the future of our country. In my view, it renders policy of their inherent lack of empathy.

I ask all the readers of this blog, to take a stand with me, and vote out & recall as many Republicans as possible during the 2012 elections.

Payroll Tax Cut: Harry Reid Says No Christmas Vacation For Obama, Senate Until Measure Passes

I do not claim that Dems are saints who are pure as the driven snow. They definitely have their fair sure of rotten apples. But it is a big difference between what the Dems have been trying to do versus what the RepubliKlans have been doing. Out of the proposals from both sides, the Dems are the most sane (not perfect). Warren Buffet is extremely wealth, and so is Bill Gates. These rich folks realize that just because they have ascended to the top of the mountain does not give them the right to kick the ladder out from behind them. Buffet and Gates are rich, but they are also patriotic Americans who realize that increasing inequality is not good for America. Obama is attacking those who have abused their monopoly on wealth to keep the rest of American down, who have embraced the philosophy of "I got mine, screw everyone else."

P.S. "Merry Christmas Republicans", were voting for Obama 2012!

Medicare 'Doc Fix': Congress Faces Decision Before Steep Cuts Take Effect Jan. 1

Republican Presidential Field Remains Crowded With Second-Tier Candidates

No doubt the Republicans are in a huge contradiction. During the economic collapse under Bush in 2007-8, which Obama inherited, Bush had to give a bailout to the “capitalist” big banks and financial houses. They can talk all they want about socialists and capitalists. But the reality is that when push comes to shove, the corporate structure had to rely on the government to not go bankrupt.

They use socialism as a red herring like they use to use communism, as in Communist China and Communist Russia. Of course it was Nixon, the Republican President, who broke the ice with China. Now they are our biggest investors, along with Japan. Using words that do not mean anything maybe triggers a reaction. They did the same thing with the weapons of mass destruction and 9-11, to get people to vote for their party and against their own interests.

Government Spending Bill Passage Underscores Rifts In GOP

It's easy to trim the national debt! 1) end ALL foreign aid (yes, even foreign aid to Israel). 2) Trim national defense to the bare minimum: send ALL troops home from everywhere. We don't need bases in Germany; WWII ended 66 years ago. 3) Stop ALL crop subsidies: if the market wants their products, the market will pay for it, not taxpayers. 4) Put tax rates back to 1970s levels, where the rich were paying 70% income tax rates. The philosophy that "decreasing the taxes on the wealthy causes them to invest and create jobs" doesn't work! If it did, where are the jobs now?

All the Republcians focus on is the tax cuts; not what the programs are needed for, not the consequences, just cutting. Better cut quick before 2012, that's what it's all about.

Unemployment Benefits: Most Of The Unemployed No Longer Receive Benefits

The Republicans, known as corporate prostitutes, would cut all and any federal fundings that would pose an obstacle to the exploitation of corporate America. For example, they would cut or reduce funding to forest service to a point that would cripple the effectiveness of forest rangers to guard natural resources from being over-exploited by the timber industry.

The Republicans are all about GREED and more GREED. Their short-term profit seeking habit has proved to be too destructive for this planet. President Obama Won't Be A Big Factor In 2012 Senate Races, DSCC Official Says

What repubs fail to understand (and they say they are in favor of free market) is that the market creates jobs. Don't expect the so called "job creators" to create jobs if there is not a market for their products, and markets depend on people having money. The republican idea of a market is to create wars, we have 2 right now and is not creating a market big enough to sustain America. We need people to have money in their pockets and start forcing some competition for their buck or two.

The best part of it is that when that occurs we don't have to give tax breaks for American made products, we start taxing higher for those that don't use our workforce but want to use our market!

America needs to be the market it once was, and you will only get that by puting money on regular people's pocket. Someone that makes a million dollars a year is not regular people guys! wake up!

Demise Of Obama CLASS Program Leaves Gap In Long-Term Care Solutions

It is misleading to refer to the Republican proposal to date as a "jobs" plan unless one rightfully calls it a job "destruction" plan. It merely completes the cycle of deregualtion that the Republicans have led us down and keep trying to sell us on as well as the bankrupt idea of trickle down economics. The Republicans appear to be operating under the premise that if the masses are under educated and fiancially strapped they are easilly controlled.

Republican politicians love to wear American flag lapel pins and talk about what patriots they are. At the moment we have nearly a million unemployed veterans. Eventually and hopefully we will see the return of our troops from Afghanistan adding to this problem. Republicans have no plan on how we are going to employ many or any of these veterans. How patriotic is that.

The GOP has been trying to keep the Tea Party movement under control and the signs of fatigue are on Speaker Boehner's face. Anyone who has watched the Republican presidential debates has witnessed the high jacking of the GOP by the presumed torch bearers for the TP and far right wing. The Occupy Wall Street movement is in its infancy and formative period but it also will have an impact on politics.

Demise Of Obama CLASS Program Leaves Gap In Long-Term Care Solutions

The quote from the information tech is soooo telling. The GOP bullhorn blaring that THE STIMULUS DID NO GOOD is equal to the statement THE WORLD IS FLAT. There is abundant evidence that the stimulus from both Bush and Obama was too small. It was a quart of water thrown desperately at a house fire. The Republicans are movitated by only two things. Unspoken greed and racism. In addition, they apparently don't mind the country's savage experiment with "free markets" which have mortally wounded the middle class. GOP 2012 Race Dominated By Personal Attacks

You read posts and see the emotional reactions and it leaves no doubt in recognizing how some are controlled and used. GWBush was literally a "puppet" for the powerful, influential and very wealthy few who "pulled his strings" and it cost the majority, the country greatly. The Republican / Tea Party has become owned and controlled by "the few" and there simply is a lot of power, influence and money being spent to get another "puppet" to again do the bidding of "the few". They intimidate and coerce their own to insure unity behind their self-serving objectives, totally squelching individual consciences. They aggressively and stubbornly block and fault all efforts, without concern for the costs to the people, concentrating only on their political ambitions. They use every effort without conscience to con the people and manipulate public opinion, like to control the Christian block, then with the Swift-boat propaganda and continuing with the Tea Party movement - all being well designed, well organized and well financed deceptions aimed to excite and control public opinion. They strive to return to "more of the same" Bush-Cheney style, which would be a continuing catastrophe for the majority. Again, there is a lot of power, influence and money being spent to con the people but the voters can recognize and reject it ... or just be duped and returned to "more of the same".

Republican Polls' Roller Coaster Powered By News Coverage

We need to focus on short-term job growth under President Obama's plan and reinvest in education, science, and technology to out-innovate the rest of the world over the long term. What rings most true to me is that a focus on education often leads to the best economies.

"Republicans said their bill would create jobs over time rather than aiming for immediate job growth." Right. First, it's not a jobs bill at all; it's a laundry list of ideological talking points. Second, of course they say it's a long term plan. The bush tax cuts - the single largest factor over ten years in exploding the national debt - are still in place. That, too, was a "long term plan." Result? No jobs, the wealthy minority continue to accumulate massive wealth and corporations are sitting on trillions of dollars. Where are the jobs? Now the GOP wants even more tax cuts and subsidies for large corporations. Sheer madness.

To gain political advantage the GOP wants even higher unemployment and escalating foreclosures, with no thought or compassion for Americans who are losing their jobs, homes, savings, retirement funds, and their future. Obama Jobs Plan Voted Down By Senate

The Senate was still voting late Tuesday, but Democrats did not have enough votes to overcome ((a filibuster led by Republicans)). Most Democrats supported the bill while all Republicans were voting to block it.

Chris Christie Endorses Mitt Romney For President In 2012 GOP Primary

Make no mistake people, todays Republican party is NOT filled with real conservatives and does not espouse real conservative values, it is home to increasingly irrational and radical extremism and the voters ARE beginning to see this.

Nonetheless, Eric Cantor, the House majority leader, has denounced “mobs” and “the pitting of Americans against Americans.” The G.O.P. presidential candidates have weighed in, with Mitt Romney accusing the protesters of waging “class warfare,” while Herman Cain calls them “anti-American.” My favorite, however, is Senator Rand Paul, who for some reason worries that the protesters will start seizing iPads, because they believe rich people don’t deserve to have them.

Obama News Conference: President Goes On Offense Over GOP Opposition To Jobs Bill

At some point in time, American’s must face the fact that the strength of any society doesn’t emulate from the greedy, corrupt few that rape the wealth of net worth of the citizenry of our society. It is the efforts of the citizens as they go through their lives growing up, getting educated, working to raise a family, and moving into retirement, that drive an economy through growth and sustainability. Just as a society that produces nothing cannot grow or sustain itself economically over any long term, a society that doesn't have jobs (because the wealthy are too busy sending jobs and assets overseas) for the citizens, is also incapable of growth or sustainability.

Sounds to me like the wealthy are going to be experiencing what we've been experiencing. And it doesn't belong to any presidency or unions.

2012 GOP Primary Voters Face Choice Between Establishment Mitt Romney And Novice Rick Perry

Essentially, Republicans believe that the answer to all of America’s problems is laissez-faire capitalism, deregulation and tax breaks for the richest Americans. They support ending government programs that are vital lifelines for the poor and elderly. Their solution to poverty and unemployment is welfare reform, i.e. kicking poor people off welfare and forcing them to fend for themselves in this harsh economy where jobs are scarce. By the way, several of the Republican candidates even support ending the minimum wage.

When Republicans "win," America loses.

Democrats Launch Campaign To Counter Alleged GOP Voter Suppression

Class warfare? a new term all the republicans have agreed to repeat. When they cut programs that are for the poor and lower middle class, isn't that class warfare?

The GOP has been waging class warfare on the middle class for 30 years.

The posts on this site confirm that GOP voters are an ignorant (illiterate, I'd say) bunch, except for the wealthy ones who support the party because of the benefits to themselves. When I see a person of wealth, I see a person who is wealthy. From what I see and hear from their own words, their perception of themselves is twisted. There are exceptions of course. But for the most part, their wealth has corrupted their vision of humanity.

Bill Daley: I'd Like Republicans To Bring 'Anything' From Obama's Jobs Bill To Floor

The Republicans are obviously working hard to protect the top 1% of wealth at the expense of the 99%. But the 99% is too weak and too deluded to fight for their own rights and life. So who's to blame here?

The world is laughing at the Americans but they have no clue or even the dignity to see that they are in trouble.

I cant wait for the chance to vote for 2012 elections.

Does this sound familiar to you from everything from the budget to the debt ceiling. Water-boys for ultra-wealthy wing nuts and kooks who don't give a damn about the country, only returning to power.

Quality of government

We get the quality of government we deserve based on our overall participation in the democratic process. If we do not take the time to investigate, understand and cognize opinions because we are too busy we abdicate our responsibility of citizenship. Those who are too busy raising their children, advancing their careers or just struggling to survive to engage in the political process in a meaningful way get the quality of government they deserve handed to them by those who usually live on the fringes of their intellect and care more for zealotry than logical compromise.

Why Congress Is So Dysfunctional

“The only people who don’t want to disclose the truth are people with something to hide.”

The REPUBLICANS are going to be hiding soon when the truth gets-out.

Just look at all the protesters gathering on Wall Street.

Lets take back our country and vote the Republicans out during the 2012 elections!

Super Committee's Cuts Anything But Automatic

"Nobody — nobody — wants to see the government shut down," said Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.). "In the meantime, if you can score some political points, you score them."

This is strictly a political game that the Republicans are playing. The GOP took over two years ago on a JOBS agendas, and we have yet to see any jobs, except cutting funding to government, and NO to everything from John Boehner. Does this sound familiar to you from everything from the budget to the debt ceiling. Water-boys for ultra-wealthy wing nuts and kooks who don't give a damn about the country, only returning to power.

Our entire system of government was based on the give and take, the exchange of ideas, and the use of compromise to bridge differences to develop solutions to complex issues. Now that there has been an element introduced that is utterly opposed to compromise, we have a problem.

((The Republican machine)) must be stopped at the voting booth.

Congress became dysfunctional after the Republicans were elected in 2010.

The GOP took over two years ago on a JOBS agends, and we have yet to see any jobs, except cuting funding to government, and NO to everything from John Boehner. Does this sound familiar to you from everything from the budget to the debt ceiling. BTW, the current Congress has yet to pas a budget in two years, Two Years! The current GOP leadership are such losers, and obviously have an agenda that you have just offered. The reent past is too recent for you to mis-characterize it,as the GOP normally does.

We are in the Great Recession due to policies put in place by the GOP; George W. Bush and George HW Bush; and now we are stalemated, because the current GOP fails to understand the gravity of the situation for America, down-graded Credit from AAA+, no budget, etc.

reality check!

Vladimir Putin Russia Presidential Run: Prime Minister Announces Bid For 2012 Election

I am a man who is in my late 30's with a family. I deeply care very much for what is happening to the elderly class. The elderly has done many great things to help make this a great country. Great societies are supposed to take-care of the elderly. Not put them aside. The GOP has really lost it, along with those who support this political group.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness! They support ending government programs that are vital lifelines for the poor and elderly.

Republicans will continue to attack those who need protection. Finally the GOP has gone too far.

There little game of taking down a president is starting to backfire.

I am voting for Obama.
