TO HUMAN MISERY!

The private sector is sitting on cash. The public sector is the only hope for growth. The Republicans remind me of that old Simpsons episode where the drug dealer (Mendoza!) gives a toast:
TO HUMAN MISERY!

My way or the highway!

Thadd007 at 07:07 AM February 21, 2011
Of course they're clamoring, the game is "Make it look like it's the Democrats fault", lose jobs and the economy will tank again. They have a plan and the public is gullible enough to believe them. It's all about "get the President out of the WH", because he's a Democrat. Let's hope the public remembers, but probably not.
The list of spending cuts offered by the GOP shows how ideological (and not economic) are the reasons behind them.
NO more funding for 'welfare' and 'government intrusion in the market/economy'.
They could not reach it now, or they'd have proposed a 500+ billions cut, so they started with their 'my way or the highway' current proposal, and since its an ideological issue for them they are not open to discussions.

Better cut quick before 2012

The Republicans have NO credibility on deficit cutting. If they were so worried about the next generation inheriting a big deficit then why all the threats and arm twisting last December to give rich people 700 billion in tax cuts?
You Republicans can't have it both ways...either the world is falling in and EVERYONE including your rich friends has to sacrifice, or hands off the elderly, the unions, the poor and our children.
All the Republcians focus on is the tax cuts; not what the programs are needed for, not the consequences, just cutting. Better cut quick before 2012, that's what it's all about.
How about we knock about $200 billion out of the years budget by getting out of Iraq and Afghanistan? Its about as straightforward a cut as we could have and the majority of the country would be happy about it.

Ve vill CRUSH ze middle class

I'm getting sick and tired of the Republicans of insulting the American public, which includes me, by continuing their insistance of keeping our economy in a turmoil simply because someone has better ideas then they may have.
No nutrition assistance for poor mothers and babies. no health care for poor folks. no reproductive care for women who otherwise can't afford it. to hell with education and research. no union rights for working people, virtually all of whom are supporters of "family values"... and most of whom are, frankly, not wealthy. cut food inspections. take cops off the streets. and so on, assuredly ad nauseum.

But by god we're gonna make sure millionaires get their tax breaks. And we're gonna make certain that the internet is handed to our big corporate buddies. and we'll make sure our military contractor friends stay rich.

What an absolutely incredible package these people are putting together. Ve vill CRUSH ze middle class.

so be it indeed.

There is a powerful cult called, (The Republicans)

“The biggest threats to our country today are group of believers that belong to a cult called, The Republicans.
Republicans appear to be against workers, education, science, technology, health, infrastructure, environment, and justice.
We need to do everything in our civic duty to vote out the Evil Axes powers that support the possible collapse of the United Sates of America.
“God-Help-Us”, if Republicans gain more control of our government.

Give to the rich and take from the poor

Let's give to the rich and take from the poor"! The lavishly rich were given their tax cuts, supported by GOP polices. Now the Republicans want to cut your benefits and services.
Republicans are a bunch crooks and hypocrites.”

Thank you Republicans

Thank you Republicans”. You are igniting a grassroots movement of Progressives, willing to set America straight and put the rich back on the map with taxes they have enjoyed skipping out on since Reagan. Your time in Washington DC will be short, indeed.
Donlad Trumnp was stated in an interview on CNN that he identifies more as a Democrat, "He stated that the economy seems to do better under the Democrats than with the Republicans”.

Lobbyists in Washington

“When Reagan took office there were 300 lobbyists in Washington. When Bush left office there were 30,000. That's how Republicans create jobs.”

Republicans ought to be careful

Republicans ought to be careful here. They are already seeing a blacklash in Wisconsin, don't think it can't happen in any other state. The republicans also have to realize they are on probation here. The fact they are blaming the democrats if this shut down happens is insane. Democrats want to fund social programs, health care, the military, so on and so forth. Republicans will be blamed largely by the American public for not approving a budget. Obama has cut 1.1 trillion over ten years but the cuts he's making is not want republicans want. Republicans want to cut from the middle class and the working poor. But don't touch their millionaires and billionaires, they kept the economic alfloat. For the last 30 years this policy hasn't worked. I'm sorry to all of those that still love Ronald Reagan. These last 30 years though has proven that Reaganomics DOESN'T WORK!”

Republicans are trouble.

My guess is that when it comes to our debt - we will live with the status quo for the next two years. We just saw the GOP hold the country hostage over $700 billion in tax breaks to the rich. That $700 billion would have reduced our national debt - maybe not by numbers that are meaningful - but a start. Now the GOP is backtracking on their own pledge to reduce the national debt by 100 billion. . Can the GOP deliver the US to the top 2% of America?
Haven't they done that already?
Let me first say I have "doubts" the "Republican Party", can provide the quality of leadership that is required to get America back on solid footing. I hope they prove me wrong”
