The Republicans have NO credibility on deficit cutting. If they were so worried about the next generation inheriting a big deficit then why all the threats and arm twisting last December to give rich people 700 billion in tax cuts?
You Republicans can't have it both ways...either the world is falling in and EVERYONE including your rich friends has to sacrifice, or hands off the elderly, the unions, the poor and our children.
All the Republcians focus on is the tax cuts; not what the programs are needed for, not the consequences, just cutting. Better cut quick before 2012, that's what it's all about.
How about we knock about $200 billion out of the years budget by getting out of Iraq and Afghanistan? Its about as straightforward a cut as we could have and the majority of the country would be happy about it.
