Newt Gingrich Gives John Boehner Cover On Fiscal Cliff: We Survived Under Clinton Tax Rates (VIDEO)

We all know why a deal is taking so long. Republicans are angry at the fact that they must raise taxes on the rich, and for this, they will make you pay dearly. For every dollar that the rich will pay, they want YOU to pay that same amount several times over. They in fact want most of the money to come from cuts to "entitlement" programs and a much smaller fraction from tax revenues.... but don't take my word for it... look it up.

The GOP logic is the laughing stock of America and they know it. This holdout isn't about protecting the top 1%. It's about trying to force Obama into more concessions. If the GOP supports going over the cliff it will be their death knell.

I say good riddance to the moronic obstructionists.

Nancy Pelosi Predicts 'Democrats Will Stick With The President' On Fiscal Cliff Deal

If you don't support to increase taxes on the wealthy and leave the middle-class tax rate the same then you are in office to support the wealthy.

Republicans don't want to go to the public with this because they know that the middle-class and the lower-class put them in office.

They also know that the majority of the middle and lower class want the wealthy taxes to increase.

So where is the gray area?

What is there to negotiate about anymore?

Republicans are in checkmate with the America people and yet they still keep postponing the inevitable.

They will vote for President Obama's plan.

They will wait until the very last minute though.

They are scared of losing their BIG DONORS that want less taxes.

"Wake up GOP", you are not in reality. Your party is over.!

Nancy Pelosi Predicts 'Democrats Will Stick With The President' On Fiscal Cliff Deal

I have played in sports all my life, & there is a name that is given to a player that does not change there strategy; its called a,"looser". The Republicans have failed to change there strategy more than once, and it has cost them the presidential election and our economy.

The Republicans should begin to realize at some point that they lost the election -- that has consequences. They were obstructionists for the last four years -- that didn't work. The voters are on to their game -- if they keep it up and they'll wind up in the trash-bin of history.

Don't be a looser, and think like a Republican.

Senate Filibuster Reform Threatened By Fiscal Cliff Gridlock

Boehner & most Repubs have chutzpah on the subjects of taxes & spending! The key reasons why the US debt roughly tripled in the last 12 yrs are:

Repub promoted tax cuts that caused Fed revenues to fall dramatically (by about 1/3 per capita income tax adjusted for inflation);

2 undeclared wars that weren’t paid for;

other Repub spending they didn't pay for like Medicare Part D.

Repubs are like criminals who murder their parents and want Court mercy because they're orphans. Repubs deserved Voters’ ridicule and nothing more. Interest rates today are the lowest in 700 yrs, and the US is the only Country in the world that can finance its debt with its own currency. Countries buying US debt have no better place to invest.

Average incomes of the bottom 90% of Americans has fallen to 1966 levels. In current dollars, annual incomes of the top 1% of Americans went from $4mill when LBJ was President to $22mil today. In 2010 (the 1st year of the Obama recovery), 37% of the increase in income in the US went to 15,600 households.

Repubs tax policies favor creating privatized systems that redistribute wealth upward. The reason people at the top dis so well and now should pay a larger share of income taxes than others is the incomes of those at the top grew at enormous rates after their tax burden was lowered from the time when Reagan was President.

Obama: John Boehner 'Doesn't Want To Look Like He's Giving In To Me'

http://seekingadventurequest.blogspot.com/

The Republicans should begin to realize at some point that they lost the election -- that has consequences. They were obstructionists for the last four years -- that didn't work. The voters are on to their game -- if they keep it up and they'll wind up in the trash-bin of history. Time to change the game-plan and the quarterback.. For all the whining the rich wannabes do about the injustice of our progressive tax code taxing the rich so much, the rich are doing just fine. Their wealth and incomes grow at faster rates than anyone else's, and there is reliable data showing this.

The Republicans wrote the fiscal cliff legislation and rammed it down our throats by threatening to default on the national debt if Democrats didn't vote for it.

Now the Republicans are pretending to believe that the fiscal cliff is somehow Obama's fault.

Fiscal Cliff Poll: What Do Americans Want In A Deal?

Politics should not be about "WAR", & the power to control government!

Republicans are needlessly costing us money with all the drama. There is fundamental differences on how to govern and there is deliberate sabotage. This line is getting much clearer every time Republicans bring us to the brink of one avoidable crisis or another.

Why does it seem that the GOP cause all the problems and blames everyone else.

Grover Norquist: Republicans Wobbly On Taxes Won't Face Opposition Yet

This past week, the senate minority leader Mitch McConnell became the first U.S. Senator in American History to filibuster his own bill, which he submitted in the well of the Senate chambers. He offered to give President Obama the authority to unilaterally raise the nation's federal debt ceiling while hoping no Democrats would vote for it and at the same time embaress them as well.

Unfortunately, McConnell's scheme backfired, when Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called his bluff and accepted the bill that was being presented. Harry Reid then requested an Up or Down vote for this bill. McConnell immediately filibustered his own bill, because he realized it was the only piece of leverage that the GOP could try to use against a re-elected popular President of the United States.

Jobless Benefits Should Be Included In Fiscal Cliff Deal, Democrats Say

The average CEO of a S&P500 company earns the same as 380 of their blue collar workers.. combined. In 1980 it was about 42 blue collar workers worth. Yet they continue to whine that if we raise taxes on them (keep in mind their tax rate in 1980 was 70%) that they're going to have to lay off workers.

What is going through the minds of the GOP congressmen that they want to reward this type of greed with a 35% rate instead of the 39.6% rate it was under Clinton. This should be a no-brainier here.

Republicans are needlessly costing us money with all the drama. There is fundamental differences on how to govern and there is deliberate sabotage. This line is getting much clearer every time Republicans bring us to the brink of one avoidable crisis or another.

Fiscal Cliff: Lawmakers See Plunge Before Agreement

Republicans controlled all branches of US government when they had the surplus, and instead of being truly conservative, they spent it - saying "deficits don't matter." The record for "conservative" politicians is red ink, spend and borrow, empty the treasury on unpaid wars.

Letting them dictate the terms now would be a bigger mistake than the first time around. That lesson has been well learned.

This is where democracy fails. It's incredible that politicians are willing to play chicken with the economic wellbeing of the country they are supposed to serve in order to appease their special interest groups so that they have a chance of getting re-elected.

The answers are so clear, but no one wants to be seen to be giving in.

Fiscal Cliff Poll: Americans Dislike Both Budget Proposals

I really don't see that the GOP has much to negotiate. I think Obama has consistently been the mature adult in this mess. The GOP, which seems to be three entities: the Tea Party, the religious right and the professional moderate Republcans, has been chaotic at best and a little irrelevant at it's worst. I think it's a fight the GOP, on many levels, is not equipped to win.

I think the president has a solution. I think the GOP, for a lot of reasons, has built it's platform on obstruction. Because of that, I expect the President to hold firm. I don't think the GOP idea is better. I think it's the best they can offer right now.

I'm what you might call rich. We don't pay more. There are a ton of people in this country who run out of quarters at the end of the month. I don't. I also don't demonize the poor or the unemployed. No one wants to be either.

The tax cuts initiated in the Bush era were the beginning of the red ink. Tax rates for the wealthy need to return to pre-bush levels. When a gentleman like Romney pays 13% marginal, it's time to reset.

As to evading taxes, the rich can afford top notch accountants and contribute generously to the congressional effort to set taxes.

John Kerry Secretary Of State: Top Dems Nervous About Political Ripple Effects

What is the subject of this conversation?

It is not the deficit, the budget, the national debt, the fiscal cliff, or entitlements.

The subject is Conservatism and nothing else. That is because it is Conservatives in Washington who are causing all of America's problems (with the possible exception of soil erosion).

The Conservative Strategy that has been followed over the years is called "Starving the Beast" in Conservative literature. Here is how it works:

1. Cut taxes but do not cut spending.

2. Create a large national debt.

3. This will create a series of fiscal crises, during which Conservatives will …

4. Cut federal programs, starting with the ones that do not benefit the wealthy class. The will work their way up to repealing social security and medicare

5. Keep cutting until there is nothing left, presumably, but just enough of an army to

put down riots and demonstrations.

Our government is FAILING because Conservatism is SUCCEEDING. Until we solve our Conservatism problem, we will not be able to solve any of our other, lower priority problems, like debt, global warming, etc.

(Note: By "Conservatives" I only refer to Republicans in elected office, not to the dupes who vote for them.)

It's not just a man-made disaster - it's a GOP made disaster. They are willing to drive the economy into ruin if they can't keep their precious tax-breaks for the rich.

Election Results 2012: Live Updates

It's obvious that Republicans are more interested in their wealthy benefactors than they are the American people. Let's just hope that the folks who have been swindled into supporting them against their own interests will realize it in time. The damage they're causing cannot be denied.

..."We live in the richiest country in the world folks, where 50 Million American's live in "POVERTY" and 50 Million, go without Health Insurance, and the Republicans want to keep it that way! They are buying up our elections that their boys on the U.S. Supeme Court has allowed top 1 percent richiest of the rich to do, by opening the "FLOOD GATES" against not only the "Working Poor, but also the "Middle Class!

The Koch brothers, the chamber of commerce, Karl Rove/Republicans, doing all they can to run from state to state, with the backing and blessngs of the rich, to pour in as much money as theRepublicans can do to buy up America, at the costs of the few outweighing the needs of the many!

As the Republians take kickbacks from the Oil Companies to the tune of $2.5 Mllion for the $4.6 Billion the Republican run congress gives the Oil Companies, in taxpayer subsidies who turn around and give them your money to buy up your state's elections, as they are doing all across the U.S.

If the Republicans succeed, you will lose! We have to stop this assault by helping the President/Democrats win all all three branches of government, so that we can do what is right and insure, as many American's as we can, because if we fail, and the Presiden loses, you lose, as the article is correct, and I am correct, "So..DIGG DEEP!!

How Would The Paul Ryan Budget Handle Disaster Relief?

Jon Divine at 4:45 AM October 30, 2012

I HAD trusted moderate Bush in 2000 who turned out to be enemy of the middle class. For last forty years, the republicans have talked of no new taxes and nailed the middle class one way or the other. During the Bush years we ended up paying more in the property taxes, utilities and much more because Enrons in cohouts with the Republicans ripped us off. It seemed there were no new taxes at the federal level, but we paid anyways. WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN AGAIN? Read this.

Why we must pay attention and vote? Romney has plan for further tax cuts for rich people at the expense of the middle class. Therefore any means of acquiring knowledge will be taxed heavily if the republicans gained power. You can expect the following:

1. Fees for every email

2. Fees for access to the information highway.

3. Fees for he tweet.

4. Fees for any online services.

5. Fees for posting your opinion online.

6. Fees for new avatar.

7. Fees for blogs

Yes, the purpose is to restrict any free exchange of information among people. All those fees will go towards the tax cut for rich. How else can Romney promise it? How else would he pay another 2trillion$ for his Defense budget?

When Katrina hit, Bush was in Phoenix celebrating John McCain's birthday.

Election 2012: Romney, Obama Head To Their Debate Prep Corners

I have one question for Republicans and those who plan on voting for Romney next month. Why is he losing so badly in his own state, Massachusetts? Badly enough that the GOP has already conceded the state to Obama. Wouldn't the very people who have been governed by Romney know him best? Pretty damning testimony I would think.

The only people that will vote for Romney are his fellow millionaires...and those that are foolish enough to think that he cares about you if you aren't one.

The conservative wackos of the GOP insist on driving forward by looking in the rear view mirror.

By the way, how did that special meeting held the day Obama was inaugurated turn out? Imagine that, the ink not even dry on swearing in ceremony and the GOP was plotting to "make him fail" according to Mitch McConnell.

And now these self-professed idiots want to complain about results? The ultimate chutzpah!

Mitt Romney Closes Gap In Presidential Polls

Oil companies keep the gas price high just to make more money and give any excuse to raise the price and keep it high again just to make more and more profit.

Gas in Saudi Arabia: 53 Cents per gallon. Gas in USA – California: $4.75 per gallon

Oil companies are making huge profits with high gas prices, artificially inflated by themselves with the help of our politicians who do nothing.

According to Open Secrets, here are top 10 politicians (including a presidential candidate) and the amount of money received from oil companies: Is this a coincidence, most of them happen to be Republicans? Look at Mr. Mitt Romney at the top, taking $2,206,735.00!

1Romney, Mitt (R) $2,206,735

2Perry, Rick (R) $951,174

3Dewhurst, David H (R-TX) $725,030

4Berg, Rick (R-ND) House $386,949

5 McConnell, Mitch (R-KY) Senate$358,200

6 Boehner, John (R-OH) House $351,299

7 Cruz, Ted (R-TX) $351,100

8 Rehberg, Denny (R-MT) House $338,269

9 Hatch, Orrin G (R-UT) Senate $322,900

You can't blame the president directly for gas prices. Odd, though, that we all seem to be at the mercy of them. when the economy is good, they raise prices. When we took a hit at the end of the Bush admin, they lowered them. now that it looks like Obama is going to get elected, they raise them to maybe make him look bad or to stall recovery. They don't care. They have us by the short hairs!

Mitt Romney, On 60 Minutes, Cites Emergency Room As Health Care Option For Uninsured

The problem with the "Romney" Campaign is not about his "business background" or "business skills" when compared to Obama's. The problem is that I vote on the entire platform.

The republicans unfortunately and willingly have been kidnapped by a "fringe" group. This fringe does not want to compromise, removed flexibility from their leadership by demanding signature pledges on not raising taxes. This same group wants only to address gay marriage, birth control (so when they want to "take back our country", they want to take it back to the '50's), abortion, global warming, evolution, the birther issue, 2$ a gallon gasoline, Obama's a Muslim, Obama wants to destroy America and promote world order... whew!

Romney sold his soul to this group to get the republican nomination .. and now he's stuck. He may be a qualilfied candidate, but his platform does him in for me.

Our economic problems ( and yes that is the key issue) from joblessness to national debt to our interdependence with the world economy demand novelty and flexibility not rigid and mindless negativism that consistently lump all attempts at solving our problems under the really old bugaboo of – dare I say it – socialism.

These two are truly the bottom of the barrel.

The bottom line is that the American people see this candidate for what he is. Then he chooses a running mate that has ties to the congress that drove up the debt and blames it all on President Obama. Sure Obama has made mistakes, what President hasn't? He has not delivered on all his promises, what President has? Romney can't even talk about his business success (Bain), his time as govenor, the past gop President or release his taxes. Hope vs. Hate, the Middle Class vs. the 1%. The choice is very clear. The trolls are out in full force this morning supporting the 1%. The question is why? When Bush Jr. took the biggest surplus in history and turned it into the biggest deficit, did any of them complain? No. When Bush Jr. started two unfunded wars and took them off the books so America didn't see the real cost, did they complain? No. When Bush Jr. cut taxes for the 1% and the deficit swelled, and no jobs were created, did they complain? No. When Mitch McConnell and John Boehner said their job was to get rid of Obama, even if Congress did nothing, the economy stalled and jobs were lost, did they complain? No. Now they get their "look at the deficit!" talking points from NewsMax and Fox News via the "grass roots" Tea Party funded by the Koch Brothers, the same billionaires who don't want to pay taxes and offshore jobs who are certainly looking out for the best interests. Mitt Romney Delivers Republican Convention Speech

Man, the Repubs sure know how to throw a party!!

First, the bought in Chris Christie flaunting his "Save the day" speech, but artfully omitting his failure as governor of New Jersey. I mean really. I didn't think New Jersey could get any lower than it already is, but whoola! Christie has managed to do it!

Then they roll out Paul Ryan and the laughs kept coming. Ryan's speech, prepared in his bathroom was so full of political lincoln logs, he cemented himself as the boogeyman for seniors. I needed a fact check score card to keep up with all his slippery misses. Nice job Ryan, you should have baked some fudge to pass out.

Then like all good Hollywood movies, out comes the stickman. Romney rehearsed that speech soooo much that when he tried to sound excited, his eyebrows didn't move! Now THAT'S acting. Even B movie actors know to "try" and make facial expressions to display emotion. Stick'ems, had nada.

"I'm for the middle class" - No policies inacted to help the middle class.

"I'm going to create 12 million jobs!" - Quick math, that's about 250,000 a month for four years. He probably will, but they'll be in China and India.

Mitt Romney Delivers Republican Convention Speech

Pres. Obama tried to reign in Oil Speculating..... Guess who stopped him? This is the end result of De Regulating.... Guess which party wants more De Regulating? You know the Party of Supply-Sided Economics.... Cut taxes, and De Regulate.....? Sound familiar?

it has been a tough 3 years, but we are getting through to the other side. In the Republicans world of "my way right away" - of course you don't see the benefit, because you think that everything is easy and can just be fixed.

That's the problem with G.O.P. politics - everyone promising the world, when they can't predict the future.

Did you know, THERE WAS NO ECONOMIC CRISIS OR FINANCIL DISASTER TO CAUSE

JOB LOSS ON OBAMA’S TERM.

"The Republicans", who could ever support such a party!

Paul Ryan Address: Convention Speech Built On Demonstrably Misleading Assertions

The Republican Tea Party likes to say that "Government should be shrunk to the point that it can be drowned in a bathtub" which just sounds sick. The GOP has no idea of how to build and maintain communities except maybe walled communities with private streets, private security, and private schools. The middle class and working folks are voting for the Democrats and Obama because they rightly understand that it's not a question of less government which is the GOP mantra but better government which is the Democratic answer to the question of government.

Paul Ryan Address: Convention Speech Built On Demonstrably Misleading Assertions

The Democratic Party Brand is Freedom, Justice, Equality, Courage, Progress, Tradition, Opportunity and picking the nation back up after it's been wrecked by the Republicans. The Republican Party Brand is Off-Shore Bank Accounts, Out-Sourcing Jobs, Government in the Bedroom, Government interference between a woman and her doctor, Government in the class room pushing religion over science, and oh crashing the economy...a long held GOP tradition from Hooverville to Bush Country.

Paul Ryan Responds To Todd Akin, Clarifies Abortion Position: 'Rape Is Rape'

OK-- no more abortions.... humm..... that means about one million more births per year of unwanted children give or take a few hundred thousand.... more child abuse, more kids being given up for adoption-- perhaps we could bring back orphanages??? Anybody willing to volunteer or pay more taxes for these unwanted kids??? Leave the decisions about having or not having children in the hands of moms and dads and doctors?? Wow, no, let's let the GOP decide... give me a break......

Basically what the Republicans are saying is that if your daughter is raped and becomes pregnant and that pregnancy threatens her life, you MUST sacrifice your daughter's life to save the child of a rapist! Think about that one for a little bit. Yes, trade your daughter's life for the child of her rapist. That's the Republican platform.

Now, can you say with a straight face that the Republican party is not anti-women? Didn't think so.

Mitt Romney Welfare Ad Repeats False Claim

Did we Americans actually expect the dirty primitives on the right to Evolve?

I know that if we elect Romeny a number of things will happen:

He will end all of the provisions ofthe Affordable Care Act.

He will pass legislation to privative medicare.

He will cut taxes for the wealthy, and end health insurance and mortgage deductions

He will do what he has said, and whether what he does "creates jobs" will be up to private industry. Personally, I doubt they will.

I think that electing a Romney/Ran ticket will simply put the wage and earnings disparity on a fast track. The rich will get richer, and the poor (ie anyone who works for a pay check) will get poorer.

Romney wants to cut taxes for the rich while making the Middle Class pay $2,000 a year more? That will really fuel the economy.

Jobs is not a good theme for an outsourcerer.

Paul Ryan Budget Forces Some Republican Candidates Into Awkward Position

Do you ever notice that people who support the Republican party like to talk down to those who don't. They will treat (others), as being (inferior) to themselves. It is almost as if the these Republican supporters consider themselves the, "Master Race".....

A similar experience regarding health care had recently happened to a close right-wing friend who lost his job recently. Here is a short story about what happened to him.

DON’T GET STDs

You watch Faux news and decide to become a Republican.

When you become a Republican, you feel powerful and important.

When you feel powerful and important, you insult people and order them around.

When you insult people and order them around, you become lonely.

When you become lonely, you got to a strip club to meet other Republicans.

When you meet other Republicans at the strip club, you drink heavily.

When you drink heavily in a strip club, you get STDs.

When you get STDs, you go to a doctor for treatment.

When your doctor treats you for STDs, he gives you a bill.

When you look at the bill, you realize the strip club got all your money and you can’t pay.

When you can’t pay, your doctor tells you about the new Healthcare Law.

When you hear about the new Healthcare law, you become a Democrat.

Don’t become a Republican and get STDs.

Paul Ryan Budget Forces Some Republican Candidates Into Awkward Position

This is what Paul Ryan's will do to your personal economy.

TWO MAJOR ASPECTS OF THE THE PAUL RYAN PLAN....Which Mitt endorses.

Put all the social security taxes in Wall Street accounts and let Goldman manage your money – your benefits will be cut by 40% Take the Medicare taxes you paid and give them to "for profit" insurance companies – you get a voucher for about 60% of the current cost of your care.

TRANSLATION:

When the stock market bottoms, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR butt.

Watch your -butt- people (especially Senior Citizens).

Robbing from the old and the sick to give to the wealthy.

I'm glad the Republican Party is finally being honest with the American people.

Rick Santorum Chuckles When Asked To Defend Mitt Romney On Health Care

If one had to choose between the lesser of two evils...it would most assuredly be Obama. Mitt Romney as President would be a disastrous move for national security, and education. Romney says "not everyone should go to college if they don't have the means to do so", but that is an ignorant statement. Everyone should go to college, and if not that, a particular trade school. Solving the problems and ailments of the society that we all live in starts with investments in education, something you will not see in a Romney administration.

Ultimately, romney will lose because of his duplicitious, underhanded nature and his inability to relate to people. No one trusts this guy, right, left, or center. He'll intensify his anti-Obama rhetoric to ridiculous levels (Obama undoing welfare reform), which won't work with anyone outside the right wing delusional bubble, and alienate swing voters and Independents.

Voter ID Laws Raise Debate Over Impact On Youth Vote

When consumption and investment are not powering the economy,

the government sector has to fill the gap with stimulus to boost consumer demand.

Much of the economy’s flat performance since 2011 reflects

insufficient stimulus, reinforcing insufficient demand.

That means sluggish job growth, lackluster pay and persistently weak demand. It’s not a downward spiral, but it is self-reinforcing stagnation.

**Politics, however, has gotten in the way of even basic moves to push the economy upward.**

Responding to the latest employment report, the White House noted correctly that major areas of job weakness —

**including positions in construction and teaching —

are precisely those that would have been the subject of the jobs bill proposed in 2011 by President Obama.

That legislation was blocked by Congressional Republicans.**

Mitt Romney responded to the July report by saying that the numbers reflect the failure of Mr. Obama’s policies when, in reality, they reflect the success of the Republican obstructionism.

That leaves the Federal Reserve to try to boost the economy.

But what’s needed is direct intervention in the form of more federal spending

on education, infrastructure, clean energy, basic research and job training.

Until then, we’re stuck.
