Health Care Reform Reshuffles The Race: The 2012 Speculatron Weekly Roundup For June 29, 2012

All I have seen is olive branch after olive branch proffered by our president rejected by the republicans who have vowed Mr. Obama would fail at their hands. Such epithets are what hurts Americans, who need jobs and healthcare. Unfortunately, republicans and their evangelical thralls do not see it that way.

People like you divide the country.

Some of you have made the mistake of thinking that the GOP is a poltical party. They are not. They are a group of special interests who have bought seats in the U.S. congress with the express intent of blocking anything they believe is not cost effective for themselves. This has nothing to do with government nor the country.

You know, had the republicans worked in good faith with the president and the democrats, we might have seen an excellent bill signed into law. Instead, the republicans' only wish is to see President Obama fail, as they have said many times, so they can make political hay out of it.

Republicans are sad and evil creatures.

Supreme Court Health Care: Obama Wins The Battle, Prepares For The War

I do not understand why Republicans appear to be against workers, education, science, technology, health-care, infrastructure, environment, and justice. How can anybody support such a party? Republicans used to stand for something, and there were actually sane discussions between parties. I am a lifelong voter, but respected Republicans at one time - now they are all disappointing hypocrites.

I don't understand why there are so many ignorant people here. Ignorant in the purest form of the word. Please look it up before flaming.

Do a little research. Google is a wonderful tool.

The conservatives spread hate and stir things up. It's going to come back and bite them.

Supreme Court Health Care Decision: Individual Mandate Survives

Honestly I am shocked that a part of our government in Washington actually took a stand on the side of common sense and upheld this law that protects us from the large organization of insurance companies. This is a great day. Listen to Obama's speech afterwards and compare that to a republican and is should be obvious who our next President should be. It's done with. It's the law. Let's move on. Let's get the economy fixed. The 501K in positive order. Get out of the middle east mess. Be self sustaining in energy resources. Get our future leaders equipped with the right education and vocation. Now that we have our health in order let us sustain it with a strong economy. Take a stand with me and vote out every foolish Republican out of office.

Obama Investigations By GOP Heat Up Before 2012 Election

The Republicans would rather eat worms than allow a Democratic health care plan to survive. They are loathed to let the Democrats take credit for a plan that will help the American people, and over time, become as popular as Medicare. They will sabotage it any way they can and they will not offer anything to replace it, and fight any effort to fix the health care mess. Republicans are interested in power and winning elections but have no interest in using government to benefit the people. They believe that the rich and the few should rule, and the poor and the many should meekly follow.

Health Care Law: Supreme Court Decision Looming

"However awkward it may be for the traditional press and nonpartisan analysts to acknowledge, one of the two major parties, the Republican Party, has become an insurgent outlier—ideologically extreme; contemptuous of the inherited social and economic policy regime; scornful of compromise; unpersuaded by conventional understanding of facts, evidence, and science; and dismissive of the legitimacy of its political opposition. When one party moves this far from the center of American politics, it is extremely difficult to enact policies responsive to the country’s most pressing challenges."Republicans have no shame even as they drop to third party status in the most populous and most popular state in America. I wouldn't be able to raise my head if my political party lost election after election. I would wonder what I was doing wrong.

Can Republicans actually reason?

Obama, Mitt Romney Tied Amid Economic Worries: AP Poll

An analysis released Wednesday found that many in the middle class could pay more under a House Republican tax reform proposal than they do today, while the uber-rich would pay less. There would be five major tax breaks, which would be eliminated: the deductions for mortgage interest, state and local income tax and charitable contributions, as well as tax breaks on 401(k) contributions and employer-provided health care. The idea that what is being proposed today from conservatives is bi-partisan is absurd. Today's liberals are readily supporting tax policy positions that conservatives were in love with just a decade ago...but now it's no longer good enough. I haven't seen a truly fiscally responsible conservative in nearly two decades now. And yes, the majority of our deficit and debt are a direct result of conservative monetary policy -- reduce taxes and spend like there's no tomorrow.

Mitt Romney Ohio Campaign Stop Interrupted By Protesters

Romney's argument is a retread of the old axiom--we should run the country like a business. But what business? Plenty of large businesses run themselves not for the overall equity health of the whole corporation and all of its stakeholders and employees but out of short-term gains, especially for an elite group at the top of those businesses, often at the expense of the long term health of the business and all of those people it employs and touches. As a capital investor, Romney is an expert at breaking businesses apart and reaping the economic value out of them for his own private gain and for the gain of a small group of elite investors.

So if you want America broken apart and sold off to the highest bidder, by all means go for Romney. He'll treat America like a business and its citizens like his employees. Romney will fail because the republican way of doing things sets up the aristocratic society that benefits 10% of the people (the aristocrats) and lets the 90% of everyone else fend for themselves.

Obama Speech Highlights 'Fundamentally Different Views' From Mitt Romney

Bush inherited a strong economy, a budget surplus, and a nation at peace.

Eight years later, he left Obama with a shattered economy, a trillion dollar deficit, and two useless wars.

Obama saved the country from another Great Depression, rebuilt GM, reformed healthcare, reformed Wall Street, doubled the stock market, created 10 straight quarters of GDP growth, created 27 straight months of private sector job growth, got Bin Laden, got Gaddafi, and got us out of Iraq.

And now with the automatic spending cuts and the expiration of the Bush tax cuts in 2012, Obama has solved the deficit problem as well.

Obama has done a very good job.

Romney's 'Doing Fine?' Ad Is Mirror Image Of Obama Ad From 2008

Americans, ANY middle class, working class, or fair-minded person VOTING for a Republican is more pathetic than a chicken following Colonel Sanders around, highlighting that you are unintelligent and misinformed. If you are not Rich (ie. 250K or more), or in the Top 1%, or a Corporation, your interests will probably be at the BOTTOM of their list. The rich are spending enormous amounts of money this election season to ensure they don't lose 40% of their wealth. Buying congressmen and paying for legislation is just a cost of doing business for them. Feeding misinformation on networks like Fox is part of their game plan.

I am glad to see that someone is noticing what is happening to the middle class. Now if we could get the voters to take off the blinders.

Romney's 'Doing Fine?' Ad Is Mirror Image Of Obama Ad From 2008

republicans have no interest either in jobs or economic improvement in general.

They instead are doing everything they can to assure the economy stagnates so they can more easily defeat President Obama in 2012.

This level of political fanaticism is close to treason.

People are suffering and republicans could not care less.

Nothing new in that.

mitt romney is devoid of content or character, a two dimensional weather vane desperate to be elected and wanting only to know which way the political winds blow.

His lack of character could be sociopathic, another rich boy spoiled by distant parents, or may derive from simple greed, the love of money asserted in the Bible to be the root of all evil.

There's something repulsively obsequious about mitt romney that reminds me of Tom Sawyer's half-brother Sid, who always deserved the thrashings he got.

Mitt Romney Labeled 'Snobby' By 2002 Women Voter Focus Group

Most Republican supporters come from tribes that have been Republican for generations , it's part of their religion , they are so completely brainwashed that reality , facts and truth are completely irrelevant . They're cult members and there is no cure . The Republican politicians and power brokers know that they can get away with anything they want to , all they have to do is lie and make accusations against the opposition , no matter how absurd and outrageous , the morons will believe , they will run around excitedly , like mindless parrots , repeating to each other what they've heard , reinforcing what they want to believe .

We lose ourselves when we compromise the very ideals that we fight to defend. And we honor those ideals by upholding them not when it's easy, but when it is hard."

- BARACK OBAMA

Mitt Romney Labeled 'Snobby' By 2002 Women Voter Focus Group

The Republican party is dominated by radicals; if only to counterbalance the opposing side. The Republicans only focus, seems to be making sure the rich pay as little taxes as humanly possible and keeping us in perpetual war and the military industrial complex humming. Do you ever notice that the candidates at the Republican debate looked like a town council that was outlawing dancing. They also looked like a board of directors that was lying about poisoning a river.

I love how terribly uninformed people still are.

I am not wondering about anything. Only the Republicans are stupid enough to think that voters are falling for their crap. It took eight years to get into this mess and now they think that it can be cleaned up in four years. The GOP has become the party of liars.

They have no concept of how the real world works period.

In Wisconsin, Lessons Learned And Bridges Burned: The 2012 Speculatron Weekly Roundup For June 8, 2012

The Republican party is dominated by radicals; if only to counterbalance the opposing side. The Republicans only focus, seems to be making sure the rich pay as little taxes as humanly possible and keeping us in perpetual war and the military industrial complex humming.

The Republican party doen't give a damn about any deficits. That's a proven fact. Just look at their records. We have always been a crisis oriented society. We do nothing until we have a crisis. However even that model seems to be breaking down. As soon as the European crisis has been decided, it will be our turn. I am deeply worried that our politicians have backed our country into a corner where the only way out is by ripping their way through the constitution.

I have begun to think that folks that have no reason to vote GOP- Those without Swiss bank accounts- do so through wanting to be identified with those who do. Remember the kids and high school that always were on the fringes of the popular kids...they weren't wanted but refused to beieve it! It's the same thing....

Torie Osborn And Betsy Butler Face Off For California Assembly Seat

Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod accused Republicans of "high-fiving each other" when bad economic news comes out.

"These are the architects of obstruction and now they’re complaining about the pace of the recovery," Axelrod said on CBS's "Face the Nation." "They should put down their political hats and join us and help solve these problems."
