Payroll Tax Deal Finalized Before Vote

Along the way to deciding whether to extend President Obama's payroll tax cut, something damaging happened to the Republican Party's once-dominant position on tax policy.

PEOPLE WOKE UP!

The debt ceiling debate highlights an increasingly evident fact: the Republican Party is bad for business.

This, of course, runs contrary to the GOP’s carefully crafted image. But it’s hard to come to any other conclusion after reviewing the party’s actions in congressional economic debates. Time after time, Democrats stepped up to take the tough actions needed to prevent economic collapse while Republicans buried their heads in the sand.

Congress Debt Ceiling Debacle May Repeat Before Presidential Election

What we need is a time machine to send these people back to the 19th century. That way they can have their world without taking the rest of us with them.

As already mentioned, what happened to the jobs jobs, jobs the GOP ran on in 2010? They have yet to even consider a plan for job growth. The minute they were sworn in that all disappeared, and this same "gentleman" stated the number one priority was suddenly changed from jobs to ensuring Obama was a one term president. That's exactly what they have focused their energy towards at the cost of constructive solutions.

Considering the overwhelming public opinion is in favor of this issue, are they really smart to ostracise independent voters with this position? Considering 40% of registered voters consider themselves independent, 31% Democrats and 27% Republican, they are pushing aside those they will need to win the White House and maintain the House. I hope they not only keep this nonsense up, but crank it up between now and November.

How about promising to fight the massive unemployment gripping the country? Oh, right, we don't want to talk about that.

And yet the GOP war on women continues....

Mitch McConnell Wants Vote On Birth Control Mandate

Republicans really want to ban the pill as an accommodation to the Church? The next step is to bring back witch trials and resume burning women at the stake for dancing naked in the moonlight with the Devil. Won’t any one tell Mitch McConnell that pandering to perverts, and fearfully repressing women is not helpful in winning elections. Obama has been lucky by having a string of dim witted opponents, and old Mich may be the dumbest. Women, minorities, or gays who vote Republican are like the chickens who vote for Colonel Sanders, dumb and rare.

Newt Gingrich CPAC Speech: 'Teach The Republican Establishment A Lesson'

T-thaddeus at 8:00 AM February 10, 2012

It figures the selfish instincts of the GOP dominated House would pass a weakened law on insider trading since some of the most egregious offenders are in the House of Representatives. Once again, Eric Cantor puts his slimy little fingers into good legislation and obstructs it. The man is a disgrace to this country. House Republicans are not serious about doing away with insider trading. So, they need a bill to inform those who accede to public office, that insider trading is not legal. Politicians don't do their jobs, they shouldn't get paid until they do.

If Americans are smart, they'll vote a straight Democratic ticket come November and vote these Republican clowns out of office.

Obama Super Bowl Sit-Down: He Says He Deserves Second Term

Let's all pretend that W.Bush and the gop didn't totally wreck the economy and the country between 2000 and 2008. I thought at some point the gop would "man up" and accept some responsibility for the 8 year W.Bush train wreck, the two unfunded wars for profit, the trillions in debt they stuck the taxpayers with, and the tax cuts for the wealthy. Instead they just blame Obama.

OK, everyone tell the truth. If you made $50-70K in 2006 did you even notice the Bush tax cuts?? Now answer the same question if you made $500-600K. Therein lies the truth of the Bush years. He only made the rich, richer.

Yeah, we don't need to bring back trickle down, remember the Reagan Recessions? S&L collapse, etc....

Republicans always let wall street run amok and then stick democrats with the mess and somehow it's always their fault.

If the 1% could share with their employees some profit, there would be alot more activity in the economy and America would be a powerhouse instead of a bailout...

So the Republican argument is as follows:

Obamas's administration isn't repairing the damage done by the previous Republican administration fast enough. This is very pathetic and embarrassing. Are the voters stupid enough to give the GOP another shot at wrecking the country? Maybe so.

Koch Brothers, Allies Pledge $100 Million At Private Meeting To Beat Obama

GOP congress is the problem which has to be addressed. Big business has used money to influence Laws and legislation that has brought this country to the brink.

I am sure the republicans are pulling out all the stops, reaching out to their contacts everywhere in the world to try to cause a situation to derail the world economy. Whether it's a military conflict or an economic meltdown, they will do anything to hurt the world economy so that they gain politically win the US. They will sacrifice anyone...................
