Cons refusing to accept reality.

See here is the PROBLEM.
Cons refusing to accept reality.
AND you wonder why the name BUSH keeps coming up.
HE and the GOP are the architects of the economic disaster we are still struggling to get OUT OF.
THEY are the ones who started 2 wars AND cut taxes at the same time
AND set up medicare part D (unpaid for)
AND orchestrated our jobs going overseas, complete with a TAX Deduction for DOING IT.
AND orchestrated the end of Glass Steagull which allowed the toxic mortgage
disaster.
I thought cons were all about accepting responsibility for ones actions.
just more hollow talk from the right.
"Ban gay marriage"
next breath
"get gov out of our lives"
Hypocrisy is THICK in Right Wing Wacky World.

Democrats Have A Shot At Taking Back The House As Republican Popularity Continues To Drop: Poll

Do you ever notice when there is bad news, the word "Republican" is mentioned frequently. You might get used to staying,

"The weather looks Republican, you better be extra careful when driving".

"I had a Republican day at work today"!

"I am feeling Republican, I better schedule an appt. with to see a doctor".

Lets just face the facts, REPUBLICANS HAVE BECOME A LIABILITY.

Ask this simple question. who do you support, the USA or the GOP....?

Senate Budget Deal Takes Shape, Facing Tough Odds To Avert Default

Did you know, that congress became dysfunctional after the Republicans were elected in 2010. We've seen and heard all the showmanship from the Republicans about their budget cuts, But they were the ones who launched the trillion dollar Iraqi war and even worse, triggered the many bank failures before "W" left office.. The Republicans found religion last November and claimed that the election was about jobs, jobs, jobs. So what jobs have the Republicans created except for getting jobs for themselves in the Congress?

REPUBLICANS HAVE BECOME A LIABILITY

I have become so disgusted with the Republican Party and their evolution toward extremism that for the first time in my life I can see myself voting straight anti-Republican.

Ask this simple question. who do you support, the USA or the GOP....?

Government Shutdown: Democrats Actually Hated The 'Clean' Funding Plan

The Republicans are not righteous rebels or principled provocateurs. They are not constitutionalists, using the ruling framework built by the founders. Just the opposite: they are a militant fringe of one party in one house of Congress in one branch of government trying to nullify an established law by extortion. This is not the design of the Constitution.”

The Republican Party claims to be the party of "Christian" and "family" values but acts in a manner inconsistent with Christianity or family values as it seeks to dismantle the programs that protect those with the least to benefit those with the most.

"The Republicans", who would ever support such a party!

John McCain: Some Republicans Resist Obama 'Because They Dislike' Him

There is this old western saloon. Patrons are sitting around enjoying the music and drinks. In walks a man who goes right for the bar. He orders drink after drink. He orders so many that the bartender is not even sure the man could afford it all, but stays quiet. Suddenly the man takes out his gun and shoots two patrons. The saloon is in chaos. The shooter heads for the door. As he is leaving, a man is walking in. The shooter hands his gun to the man walking in and leaves. Everyone in the saloon turns to look at the door. Suddenly one person shouts, "That is the man who shot these two men." Everyone charges at the man, blaming him for each problem the shooter caused. Spilled drinks, the bar tab, the two shot patrons. The man tries to explain and do his best to help everyone but everyone is so convinced he is the shooter, that they keep shouting for the man to be hanged.

Analogy explained, the man with the gun, the (Republicans). The Person who just walked into the bar, the (Democrats).

Republicans have no interest either in jobs or economic improvement in general.

They instead are doing everything they can to assure the economy stagnates so they can impeach President Obama.

This level of political fanaticism is close to treason.

People are suffering and republicans could not care less.

12 years in American politics

There is this old western saloon. Patrons are sitting around enjoying the music and drinks. In walks a man who goes right for the bar. He orders drink after drink. He orders so many that the bartender is not even sure the man could afford it all, but stays quiet. Suddenly the man takes out his gun and shoots two patrons. The saloon is in chaos. The man tries to explain and do his best to help everyone but everyone is so convinced he is the shooter, that they keep shouting for the man to be hanged.
This is what our last 12 years in American politics has been like.

I don't hate Republicans as individuals. But I hate what the Republicans are doing to this country

Famous quotes about the Republican Party:
“I came from a disadvantaged home. They were Republicans.”
― Paul Tsongas
“Republicans don't like people to talk about depressions. You can hardly blame them for that. You remember the old saying: Don't talk about rope in the house where somebody has been hanged.”
― Harry S. Truman
“I don't hate Republicans as individuals. But I hate what the Republicans are doing to this country. I really do. ”
― Howard Dean
"Republicans are men of narrow vision, who are afraid of the future".
― Jimmy Carter
“We had a choice between Democrats who couldn't learn from the past and Republicans who couldn't stop living in it...”
― P.J. O'Rourke
“Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a Republican. But I repeat myself.”
― Harry S. Truman
“How did sex come to be thought of as dirty in the first place? God must have been a Republican. ”
― Will Durst
“Republicans stand for raw, unbridled evil and greed and ignorance smothered in balloons and ribbons.”
― Frank Zappa
“Have you ever wondered why Republicans are so interested in encouraging people to volunteer in their communities? It’s because volunteers work for no pay. Republicans have been trying to get people to work for no pay for a long time. ”

State Department: U.S. Will Take A 'Hard Look' At Russian Proposal On Syrian Chemical Weapons

Finally a resolution that the Democrats, Republicans, Russians & the Syrian’s can agree on! This was a true test that a modern civilization can resolve a major conflict by not using war as a means of control. This entire charade of war has lasted far too long since it is now been a generation lost off the blood of American youth.

I still pray that I will not bear-witness to world war III during my lifetime.

God Bless America for making the right choice.

Congress 'Evenly Divided' On Obama's Next Move In Syria

When should you kill people to stop them from killing other people? In an attempt to stop people from killing other people, when is it okay to kill people who had nothing to do with carrying out the attack?

For all you fools who are in support of another war, shame on you!

How wars really get started?

I wonder how much money these Republican senators receive from the defense industry?

If we are going to consider options, why can't we consider bringing our troops home from Afghanistan first??? This entire charade of war has lasted far too long since it is now been a generation lost for nothing but making Wall Street rich off the blood of American youth. Our nation is foundering like a rudderless ship at sea due to indecision in many areas. We have economic, social, employment, health, environmental, etc... issues many of which stem from the Wall Street takeover of our economy which resulted in our economic collapse. We must cut our losses and might as well begin with stopping the loss of our best and brightest. Am I the only one who remembers stopping the wars being pivotal to the 2008 Presidential campaign??? Time to stop dithering folks!!!!

Most Republican Voters Oppose The Republican Plan To Shut Down The Government

Republicans have no interest either in jobs or economic improvement in general.

This level of political fanaticism is close to treason.

People are suffering and republicans could not care less.

I run a small business &.my income level is well above the amount that will be taxed heavily under Democrat polices. But I am a big picture sort of business man, & I see where this is going. The GOP polices have not helped my business or this country. If the dept ceiling is not lifted because of there obstructionism I am going to take it to the streets and protest every GOP candidate in Californian. To the hell with the GOP, they have sold-this-country-out..............Their representatives should be tried for treason!

"We the People" elected Obama twice.

"We the People" elected Obama twice. He campaigned on healthcare reform in 2008 and won. The ACA then passed with a majority in the House and Senate and we elected Obama again -
It is called democracy!
Now the published exchanges are even turning out to be a good deal - the GOP need to back off - it is already clear there never were any "death panels" or "takeovers" like they claimed - and no one is out to "kill dear old granny" -
In addition, the GOP's claims of Obama being a big spender aren't even true - Spending for 2013 is already projected to be 100 billion less than it was 2 weeks before Obama took office in 2009, and deficits have been cut in half and are projected to be 641 billion for 2013 -
Revenue loss caused most of the increases in deficits in the collapse if the economy and revenue increases from the recovery is already erasing most of them.
The GOP look more ridiculous every day!

Republican Party Poll: Voters Agree On The Need For Change, But Divide On Direction

The American people are tired of being, "Gop-Blocked"!

The TEA Party is run by con-men and late-night hucksters who peddle perpetual motion-machines and penile implants. These people are traitors and are the controlling force of the GOP party. Also, has anyone seen anything that the GOP has done to help this country? ......................................................................

Let's face the obvious facts, the GOP have betrayed the American people at every turn.

A Republican from Frog Jump, Tenn.

"The biggest recipient of government payouts were from Rep. Stephen Fincher, a Republican from Frog Jump, Tenn.
While the self-described Tea Party patriot lists his occupation as "farmer" and "gospel singer" in the Congressional Directory, he doesn't mention that his family has received more than $3 million in farm subsidies from 1995 to 2009, according to the Environmental Working Group"
"When asked whether he would be willing to see all his subsidies go away, Fincher would not directly say he would no longer take any more subsidies"
===
These are the same blowhards that whine about poor Americans on foodstamps.
The TEA Party's motto: I got my govt handout; screw the rest of you.
The TEA Party has always been an astro-turf movement, financed and directed by the OnePercenters to manipulate gullible trailer trash types into supporting their regulatory capture of our democratic government.

The level of intelligence displayed by the Republican Party and its supporters is downright ridiculous.

The level of intelligence displayed by the Republican Party and its supporters is downright ridiculous. OF COURSE Republicans argue that the President  is pursuing the wrong policies. To Republicans, crappy education, crumbling infrastructure, inefficient and expensive health care, military spending, trickle down economics, & subsidized oil, are all good policies. If Obama were to implement Republican economic policies our country would be thrown back to the stone age, unable to compete with a global economy and only then will Republicans be happy. This did not work last time, & won't work next time.
To all the Republicans, take a moment and listen to the America people and not the rich businessman and lobbyist who give political contributions towards your party. Stop allowing money to rule politics and create legislation that benefits the businesses and investors, yet deny the needs of the American people just because they're not able to write out checks to demand change that suits the people. We need more honest and straight-forward politics!!

WTF Republicans

If the situation was reversed and the Dems were doing the filibustering, the Republicans would have already changed the filibuster rules.
It is sad that a party's only agenda is to stop the first Black president from making any progress for our nation.

Friday, July 12, 2013

What happens when your government does nothing because a small minority uses the means of the filibuster as an act of obstruction?

What happens when your government does nothing because a small minority uses the means of the filibuster as an act of obstruction? Your country inters into a dark-age. To bad the Republicans don't work with the President as much as they work against the President. Maybe we could get some bills passed that would help the economy instead of nothing at all. The right in this country is not conservative, far from it. It's become doctrinarian and authoritarian in nature. Everything is shaped, including the facts by ideology.True conservatives are practical people. While they want a smaller government, they want what they pay for to work.

Today's right
doesn't want government to work at all.

True conservatives believe in using incentives to help and motivate people, incentives that work.True conservatives accepted for the most part, Keynesian Economics in the 50's and 60's. They never opposed the government helping people during times of economic crisis.True conservatives founded the conservation movement, which begat today's environmental movement.  Conservation and Conservative both come from the Latin, to conserve.Let's restate what the Republicans have done. -- They want to raise the costs for kids going to school, eliminate health programs, send our jobs overseas, cut corporate taxes, not worry about the environment, raise taxes on the poorest citizens, cut food stamps, etc., etc.I do think that they believe that the more miserable they make the rest of us feel, they more successful they will be in the elections and elsewhere. They believe that if we are truly miserable, we will not go to the polls to vote for our values. So they think they can ramp up the misery, increase our fear and hatred of the very circumstances they have helped bring about through record filibusters, voter suppression efforts, saber rattling with Iran, etc.The GOP has 2 choices. STOP trying to tell other people what moral and religious values they MUST embrace, OR become completely irrelevant... They have NO other choice. The anti-choice bible thumpers have COMPLETELY destroyed the GOP at this time..

Obama is president, even when it's the result of laws they crowed about and applauded when passed under Bush.

Republicans reflexively oppose - in fall-in-line automaton fashion - EVERYTHING that happens while Obama is president, even when it's the result of laws they crowed about and applauded when passed under Bush. They branded all who dared question the Patriot Act as traitors and cowards, and now insist that they had no idea that the recently revealed NSA surveillance was authorized by that bill. Not only is that total BS - given the fact that there have been 36 Congressional briefings on the NSA programs over the last four years - if they really didn't know what was in the bill they so ardently supported, that puts them "in bed" with one of their favorite targets... Like Nancy Pelosi, they "had to to pass the bill to find out what's in it." Except they never bothered to find out. It's similar to the way they now call the provisions under the ACA that were their idea (and which Obama and the Democrats included in the bill because the GOP insisted on them), "socialist government takeover of health care." The lemming-like willingness of so many Republicans today to obediently follow the ranting right fringe of their party is not only remarkable and frightening... it's downright disgusting. Their hateful hypocrisy knows no bounds, no limits on name-calling rhetoric, and no decency or willingness to accept responsibility for things they've enthusiastically promoted in the recent past.

NSA Spying Controversy Highlights Embrace Of Big Data

When you live in a world you can not have safty and privacy at the same time, you have to prioritize. I don't mind losing some privacy for safety.

There are 314 million people in the US. There are about 145 BILLION emails sent every day. Do you really think the government has an opportunity to look at even a small % of them? No, they are only looking at trends of who is communicating with who. In some instances a red flag is raised and they look into in detail. They are not reading your emails or listening to your calls. You are all getting upset over nothing. Everyone Chill the F&%& Out and think about this instead of just reacting!

Republicans blame Obama for investigating terrorists and leaks of information that help terrorists.

But if even one of those plots had succeeded Republicans would be blaming Obama.

Republicans are terrorist loving hypocrites.

NSA PRISM Program: Is Big Data Turning Government Into 'Big Brother?'

I want to ask this simple question, how many people here have had a friend or family member lost to the 9-11 terrorist attack? Terrorism is a painful reminder that steps were taken for our security & safety.

So, far all of these "scandals" to me don't amount to anythings.

"Minimum government" and the GOP? Okay. EPA, Homeland Security, war

rentless wiretaps are all GOP initiatives. National debt out of control? Started big with Reagan, went down with Clinton, went up big again with Bush Jr. GW left the economy in free fall with bank bailouts and reduced tax income from job losses.

Republicans are the Party of lunacy. They are now attacking the monitoring of electronic communications of those believed to be terrorists.

To bad the Republicans don't work with the President as much as they work against the President. Maybe we could get some bills passed that would help the economy instead of nothing at all.

Our government is doing everything possible to prevent a re-occurrence of terrorist attacks!

True conservatives believe in using incentives to help and motivate people, incentives that work.

It's actually been a sad 30 years or so for me, seeing the GOP taken over slowly and surely by kooks of various sorts.
Barry Goldwater warned against it. He and Buckley kicked the Birchers out, now they're part of the base. Goldwater warned about letting the religious right in there.  True conservatism believes in separation of church and state.
That's all gone now, there's no there anymore. It's just a collection of fringe groups banded together by a common paranoia that the right wing media feeds them.
The right in this country is not conservative, far from it. It's become doctrinarian and authoritarian in nature. Everything is shaped, including the facts by ideology.

Conservative Whining Bull Shit

I think all this conservative whining about being singled out is a tactic to avoid having the IRS audit them.  Any 501c4 that spends or takes in over $25,000 has to file statements.  I'd love to see them all file statements showing what percentage of their expenditures went to non campaign issues. More GOP inspired charades. They weren't denied the exemption, the IRS was using proper diligence to weed out these phony groups. The GOP are in fact anti-tax and anti-government, they should have expected the additional scrutiny. You know what the irony is? Guess who ends up paying for these lawsuits. We do. But in this case, I'll gladly chip in. It takes a soldier 900 days to get VA help, and a wing-nut group files a suit for a delay a mere two years? This is more GOP B.S.
We need to vote these GOPer’s out of office, all they do is obstruct justice and waste time

Sequestration Forces Indian Land, Military Base Schools To Make Drastic Cuts

Most GOP governors immediately ruled out enlarging Medicaid and have resisted months of lobbying from doctors, hospitals and business leaders. You have the very people that work on the front line treating people lobbying for the expansion, and yet the narrow minded Republicans want to halt an improvement.

I respect my federal government!

I respect my federal government. I trust my federal government a LOT more than I trust the Fortune 500 company I work for. I trust my federal government a LOT more than I trust the global corporations I do business with, like Wells-Fargo, Chase, Bank of America, Disney, GE, Exxon, American Airlines, Shell, BP, Toyota, GM, Walmart, Allstate, Time Warner, Cox Cable, Verizon, AT&T, State Farm, etc.
Global corporations want to pollute the air, ground, and water as much as legally permitted – and more if possible. My federal government wants to clean up the environment.
Global corporations want to lay me off the moment is it profitable to do so. My federal government wants to help me if I'm unemployed and looking for work.
Global health corporations want to increase the cost of medical care and they don't care whether I can afford it or not. My federal government wants to make sure I have access to medical care.
Global corporations pay lobbyists who bribe and corrupt elected officials and government employees, undermining my democracy. My federal government prosecutes a few of those who offer bribes, but I wish they'd work a lot harder on this one.

Benghazi Depositions To Examine Hillary Clinton's Role In Response To Attacks

LOL at Chris thinking that Benghazi is a political slam dunk for Republicans. Same guy who predicted 277 Electoral Votes for Obama, wrote for years about T-Paw being a top tier GOP contender and writes that PPP is a Democratic leaning pollster while saying that Rasmussen in an independent pollster.

It has been 8 months since the attack on the embassy and most people have moved on apart from GOP dead enders who are looking to find a way that Obama/Hillary were involved in the attacks. Perhaps this is because they know if the focus is on jobs/economy, immigration or gun control they will lose so they have to constantly bring this up and maybe people will believe it.

Most voters do not care about this at all. The only ones who do are probably ones who think Obama's birth certificate is fake.

Romney tried to politicize this and got creamed. Hilarious thinking this is an issue with any political benefits beyond GOP primaries.

Benghazi is a scandal that is the figment of some overzealous House republicans!

Benghazi is a scandal that is the figment of some overzealous House republicans and conservative so-called media personalities who are making things up as they go. The House Republicans, because they don't want to do anything else, concentrate on this stuff rather than actually dealing with real issues.

Second, the IRS targeting of so-called conservative groups is NOT a scandal as there is no indication of political involvement in this situation. Yes, we do need to find out what happened here, but, as with Benghazi, there is probably less than meets the eye, except for conspiracy theorists on FOX and in some conservative media.

Please forget the sca
ndals and give the country a Congress that deals with real issues.

The Nasty Republicans

From the posts claiming the economy is not doing well under this president confirms there are not a lot of high income folks here, otherwise they would be enjoying the highest stock market in 6 years. Instead , the poor and middle income republicans write nasty comments about the president and vote for the republicans who in turn vote only for laws that protect the rich. Republicans do not even like poor and middle income republicans, you can tell by those votes.

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

You’ve probably already heard of the “One Percent.” Basically, they’re the guys at the top: the Gordon Geckos and Tony Starks of the real world. Only, instead of saving Earth from angry Norse Gods, they’re more likely to get their kicks destroying it, one ill-spent billion at a time.
Now, let’s be clear: it is totally possible to be both rich and a decent human being. But it often takes a special type of person to squeeze into that fabled, global elite—and that sort of person rarely gives a damn about anyone else. After all, right this very second, the ultra-rich are:

http://listverse.com/2013/04/24/9-ways-the-one-percent-are-screwing-you/

The Republicans did more damage to America than bin Laden.

The Republicans did more damage to America than bin Laden.

Seriously, has anyone figured out what the Republicans have ever done to help the average American Family? you know, the rest of us? At least within the last 40 years?
We now have Mitt Romney, who is giving Mormons a bad name, saying that we should respect him because he is wealthy. Sure sounds like Calvinism -- the belief that God rewards the righteous by giving them lots of money! He is wealthy and lives in the lap of luxury -- and on top of this we should respect him for his wealth?
I do not think that this is the kind of thing that an avowedly spiritual person should be saying. That because he is rich, among other things, by bending the rules of taxation (Baine Capital hired lobbyists to ensure their taxes wouldn't go up), we should respect him. Really? Someone who made a lot of money by lying to the government and misrepresenting  the actions of Baine Capital? (At least at one point, the government was forced to pay millions to pick up the costs of pension funds, pick up other costs as well.) Someone who won't release his taxes for the last ten years? And he wants to run the country? That is just laughable.
But to dig into the question more, what exactly have Republicans done in the last 40 years that has benefited the average person? Seriously? I mean, we had Ike with the National Highway Project and Nixon with OSHA, and several other programs -- including environmental protection, but since then, it's been money and greed for them all the way. And the poor and needy take the hindmost! "I'm okay, Jack! I've got mine -- the heck with you!"
So perhaps I'm exaggerating here, but please correct me -- what law has made it through the House of Representatives, the Senate, sponsored by Republicans that has helped the average person?
And today we hear from Romney that a rapacious, greedy person, who has worked to enrich himself, herself, etc., is worth more than the average teacher, firefighter, parent? Who has less money but who is playing by the rules and who is helping those around them?
What kind of metric is this? And what voters really are likely to believe this?
Certainly over the last 30 years people are increasingly conditioned to believe that they might just "strike it rich"--with the lottery winning or some sort of incredibly low probability event. Thom talks about how our view of wealth has shifted over the years, from the Honeymooners with their one room flat to the fabulous mantions of Dallas, with millionaires giving orders to others.
But this kind of "casino wealth" (let me name it that) is certainly nothing that can help bring the average person up, that can help pay for average families in average cities, that can make this country great again. People who believe that are simply out of touch with the real world, with their neighbors (unless their neighbors are multimillionaires too), or perhaps they know that average people can too easily be taken advantage of, and they are more than willing to do the shearing.
So seriously, has anyone figured out what the Republicans have done over the last 30 years to help the average person?
Let's restate -- they want to raise the costs for kids going to school, eliminate health programs, send our jobs overseas, cut corporate taxes, not worry about the environment, raise taxes on the poorest citizens, cut food stamps, etc., etc.
I do think that they believe that the more miserable they make the rest of us feel, they more successful they will be in the elections and elsewhere. They believe that if we are truly miserable, we will not go to the polls to vote for our values. So they think they can ramp up the misery, increase our fear and hatred of the very circumstances they have helped bring about through record filibusters, voter suppression efforts, saber rattling with Iran, etc.
Or am I wrong?

10th anniversary of the Iraq invasion passed without a GW Bush

There was a 10th anniversary of the Iraq invasion passed without a GW Bush public appearance (he was busy painting portraits of his deceased dog for Karl Rove & his wife), GW will attend the public dedication of his Presidential Library. Despite the expected fanfare, America should remain angry with and disapproving of GW Bush & politicians who helped him start the Iraq war. Most Dems who supported going to war now admit they were wrong whereas most Repubs who supported going to war say they were right or won't say. GW Bush & crew made a huge mistake when they decided to invade Iraq for bogus WMD reasons -- a terrible decision that needlessly cost:
  • US Blood: over 4,400 killed & 33,000 injured Soldiers (many disabled need yrs of medical treatment)
  • US Treasury: over $2.2tril & growing
  • Severe damage to US Diplomacy
  • Foregone opportunities to rebuild US infrastructure
  • Over 134,000 killed Iraqi civilians, thousands injured & displaced Iraqis, $billions in damage to Iraq property & institutions
GW Bush still insists his Iraq invasion decision was right. Mitt Romney agreed and had he been elected President, Mitt likely would have relied on similar flawed neo-con silly reasoning to confront Iran as GW Bush relied on to invade Iraq. Knowing now that Iraq didn’t possess nuclear WMDs, anyone who says the Iraq invasion was the right decision as does GW Bush either is delusional, lying or both.

Boston Marathon Terror Investigation In Its 'Infancy,' FBI Says

Boston, we admire your bravery. You have the full support of the United States of America. As millions have already said....all of our hearts go out to you. Good will ALWAYS triumph over evil, even in the face of devastation. The person responsible for this act of violence will be brought to JUSITICE. Thank you Boston for your courage, you have set an example for us all.

After 9/11 the entire nation was united.

Obama must be doing an awesome job if the Republicans are trying desperately trying to place blame with something like THIS.

How cowardly and pathetic.

The Republicans are the official party of stupid.

America is an enigma, shrouded in a mystery, and wrapped in a tortilla. We insist on democracy, personal freedom and freedom from intrusive government while we grant our unelected business and commercial leaders despotic control over almost every aspect of our lives. Businesses are free to hire or fire us at will, poison our food supply, air and water, deny food and drink to the starving and thirsty, deny us medical care, and generally dump on us at their pleasure. Business now is taking control over our borders, importing docile foreign workers from abroad, and is taking over our jails and prisons and making big bucks by incarcerating Americans. We pride ourselves on our freedoms yet we sell them off on the cheap to unscrupulous business people who profit handsomely from our stupidity. While the Republicans are the official party of stupid, our whole country is falling off of the top of the stupid tree and we are crashing into every branch on the way down. We cannot trust our large corporations to look after us; we must do that ourselves.

That's what the opposition does: it opposes!

In the past, when he has stayed aloof from legislative action, Republicans and others have accused him of a lack of leadership; when he has gotten involved, they have complained that they could not support any bill so closely identified with Mr. Obama without risking the contempt of conservative voters. Representative Chris Van Hollen, Democrat of Maryland, called this predicament Mr. Obama’s “Catch-22.”
....Other than the stimulus experience in early 2009, the moment that most captured that polarization for the White House occurred a year later. In early 2010 Republican senators, including the minority leader, Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, demanded that Mr. Obama endorse bipartisan legislation to create a deficit-reduction commission. But when he finally did so, they voted against the bill, killing it.
Well, that's what the opposition does: it opposes. If Obama is spending too much, you scream about the deficit. If he cuts spending, you scream that he's endangering the safety of the country. If he refuses to reform Medicare, you scream that entitlements are out of control. If he cuts Medicare spending, you run campaign ads screaming that he's sacrificing Granny on the altar of Obamacare. If he raises taxes, you scream that he's engaged in class warfare. If he lowers taxes, you scream that he's draining the Social Security trust fund.
In other words, any port in a storm. Opposition parties routinely use whatever arguments are at hand. This is hypocritical, of course, but no one cares about hypocrisy unless it's the other guys engaging in it. When your guys do it, you beaver away figuring out clever reasons why this episode isn't really at all like that previous episode. Everyone does this.
It's still pretty annoying, though, isn't it?

Look folks, Republican President Ronald Reagan signed into law the biggest Tax increase in the history of the United States. Another Republican President did great things for the country with a top tax rate of 91% of Income. Who? Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower and he built the interstate highway (creating massive jobs), dams (creating more jobs), improved our Electrical Grid (creating even more jobs) and upgraded our Public School System to the point where it was the envy of the free world.

President Obama, with his High-Speed Rail program, is trying to do the same thing President Eisenhower did with the Interstate Highway. Upgrade our Railroad Transportation system and CREATE JOBS.

When you place Politics above the welfare of the Country you get people like Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl who all voted to increase the debt limit a combined 19 times during the Presidency of George W. Bush. Now that the President of the United States is a black Democrat the debt ceiling was held hostage by people who don't care about America!

As for the Ryan Plan, it doesn't reduce the deficit one penny. It increases our National Debt while It cuts medicare benefits, turns social security over to Wall Street and takes those savings and applies them as TAX-CUTS FOR THE RICH.

Why do you still vote for these republican miscreants?
