Sequester 2013: Senate Fails To Avert Major Spending Cuts

Lets simply break down our deference's.

The Democratic Party Brand is Freedom, Justice, Equality, Courage, Progress, Tradition, Opportunity and picking the nation back up after it's been wrecked by the Republicans. The Republican Party Brand is Off-Shore Bank Accounts, Out-Sourcing Jobs, Government in the Bedroom, Government interference between a woman and her doctor, Government in the class room pushing religion over science, and oh crashing the economy...a long held GOP tradition from Hooverville to Bush Country.

Sequester 2013: Senate Fails To Avert Major Spending Cuts

Last month, the senate minority leader Mitch McConnell became the first U.S. Senator in American History to filibuster his own bill, which he submitted in the well of the Senate chambers.

I think the president has a solution. I think the GOP, for a lot of reasons, has built it's platform on obstruction. Because of that, I expect the President to hold firm. I don't think the GOP idea is better. I think it's the best they can offer right now.

I'm what you might call rich. We don't pay more. There are a ton of people in this country who run out of quarters at the end of the month. I don't. I also don't demonize the poor or the unemployed. No one wants to be either.

The tax cuts initiated in the Bush era were the beginning of the red ink. Tax rates for the wealthy need to return to pre-bush levels. When a gentleman like Romney pays 13% marginal, it's time to reset.

As to evading taxes, the rich can afford top notch accountants and contribute generously to the congressional effort to set taxes.

Being a republican today is simply embarrassing......!

Sequester 2013: Senate Fails To Avert Major Spending Cuts

Since when is 51 votes not sufficient to pass an ordinary (not subject to Constitutional requirement of higher than majority vote) bill in the Senate? The author neglects to report truthfully that the Democratic majority bill would have passed, but for a Republican minority filibuster.

Well, republicans....you have put yout foot down....and now what? I haven't looked into all the cuts, but just the mental health cuts scare me....you will have even more ill people, running around with guns, not able to get treatment. It may look good to your voters and give you a great sense of power, but please consider the consequences.

Thank you "Republicans", for screwing over our great country once again. Cutting these jobs also means a loss in all the payroll taxes.

Really dumb.

The GOP, is like a hemorrhoid that does not go away.

Obama: Budget Cuts Will Cause 'Tumble Downward'

Leadership you say, well here's a thought why don't the Republicans do something. This is ridiculous, the GOP has consistently refused to do anything of substance for the first term, they refuse to listen to the will of the people, and you say that the President needs to step up? Well, why don't we just elect a king and we would have no need of congress? The GOP should get the blame because they have refused to govern and when the time on the clock runs out they just throw their hands up & say the President should show leadership. I am sick & tired of them, I want the GOP to compromise & legislate based on the will of a majority of the people. When the pundits in the media on certain channels stop covering for them, and stop trying to equally divide the blame (when there is one party acting up), and call them out maybe we can get something done! Until then the whiners will continue to play games!

John Boehner: Sequester Is Product Of Obama's 'Failed Leadership'

The only thing "dividing" the country are Republicans. Stop the non-sense talk. Don't blame the President because of the childishness of the Republican Tea Party who would rather put their ideologies first BEFORE the AMERICAN PEOPLE and put the WHOLE COUNTRY AT RISK!

I've always said this, ever since Barack Obama became president..the Republican Party is falling apart. They've become an embarrassment to REAL republicans out there who truly care about this country.

I have great respect for the Republican brand...but not this Republican party. Reagan would be embarrassed..
